Laughter is medicine for the soul. It lightens the heart, unburdens the head,
and relieves stress. It cleans out the cobwebs and helps us focus more clearly.
Laughter is a sign of health and will put more bounce in your life.
If you're going through a difficult time, go see a funny movie, read a funny
book, or just laugh with your friends. You'll feel better and think better.
Learn to laugh at yourself and the day-to-day problems of life. If you laugh
every day life will be lighter. What have you done for fun this week? What have
you laughed about?

Laugh at Yourself
There I was wearing my favorite blue suit and great looking, but uncomfortable,
heels. I was almost 10 minutes into a keynote speech. As I stepped sideways my
thin high heel caught in a crack where the platform came together. Realizing it
was stuck, but pretending nothing had happened, I continued talking and tried
wiggling the heel loose. I wiggled too much. It snapped. The sound seemed to
echo through the auditorium like a gunshot. I was stunned, embarrassed, and
facing an audience which in that split second appeared to be waiting anxiously
for instructions from me on how to respond. I laughed. As I explained what
happened and took off both shoes to continue in my stocking feet the audience
laughed with me. It was that comfortable relaxed knowing laugh -the recognition
that we are all human, no matter how large or small our platform.
Don't take yourself or daily mishaps too seriously. Laugh more and stress less.
A laugh break can increase your focus and actually make you more productive.
